Specifically when creating Truth… Downtrend Shapes Renewal was adjusting to early mornings and lengthy commutes in winter. “Beginning to make more literal works meant that I could no longer easily attempt to convey a feeling or atmosphere through an image without it being bound by the symbolism of the paintings’ subject. I decided to begin exploring sound, manipulating field recordings and tentative experiments with electronic music to create an intangible illustration of the feelings I had about certain things/scenarios that I could neither put into words nor explain visually.”
