Born February 8, 1955. Scott Taylor is a songwriter, guitarist, teacher, and music historian from Troy, Illinois who now resides in Missouri. He has been a high school teacher since 1978. As a high school teacher he mentored several future members of Chicken Truck / The Bottle Rockets and developed a songwriting relationship with them. Some of his biggest influences as a writer include Bob Dylan, Warren Zevon, Bruce Springsteen and John Prine. Known for his knowledge and music taste, Scott is a music historian whose wide array of influences helped shape the sound and style of Chicken Truck and The Bottle Rockets.
