Abhijit Ghosh, the Bass Guitarist holding the base of all Bhoomi songs within the four strings. He is also a songwriter and a singer who sometimes hits high harmonies. Abhijit's started taking guitar lessons when his father gifted him a guitar on a cold, windy night in Darjeeling. He initiated into music under the eminent musician Ms Viveka Wilson's tutelage and then of Mr Kesang Tshering from Darjeeling, Kesang Tshering. He was greatly influenced by Darjeeling's East Meet West Culture and Nature. To him, even the trees seemed to sing in tune and synchronized rhythm. He has been associated with music from his school days at Darjeeling followed by representing St. Xavier’s College Kolkata, in music festivals winning several credits. He met Soumitra Ray in such a music festival. They started playing music together and eventually, Abhijit became one of the founder members of Bhoomi in 1999. However, his Professional debut was back in 1983. He has composed two of Bhoomi's most popular songs "Pichu Pichu" and "Chol Polaye Jai". Abhijit feels happy to have carried on his father's wishes. Even though his mother passed away in 2000, just before Bhoomi's first album "Jatra Shuru" was released, he is satisfied that his mother got to hear about the album and blessed him. He is a total family man and a loving father he spends most of his time net surfing and listening to varied music styles.
