Willis C. Patterson

Willis Charles Patterson (born November 27, 1930) is an American bass-baritone, editor, music arranger, and professor emeritus/longtime Associate Dean of the University of Michigan School of Music, Theatre & Dance. A Fulbright Scholar and the winner of the Marian Anderson Award, he has performed in opera houses and concert halls internationally. Director of the Michigan Men's Glee Club; Professor of Voice at The University of Michigan. Has a Bachelor and Master of Music degrees from Michigan and has had extensive experience as a soloist. Winner of the Marian Anderson Award for Young Singers in 1958. He has studied with such renowned vocalists as Chase Baromeo, John Brownlee, and Horst Gunther.
