Johnny Moyer

Musician and carpenter, who lived most of his life in Austin, Texas. Born in Beaumont, Texas, he graduated from The University of Texas with a Master's degree in Musicology. Moyer played acoustic bass at nightclubs around Austin, including playing with Janis Joplin, the Winter brothers and Kenneth Threadgill. He was a member of John Clay’s Lost Austin Band. In his later years, Moyer returned to Beaumont. He died age 64 on Sept. 29, 2005.
