Peggy Brooks

Australian vocalist & dancer (b. Footscray, Melbourne 4 Dec., 1912 - Performing in George Sorlie's Tent Show in 1934, and a regular vocalist on many radio programs from late 1930s to late 1940s. Went to England in 1947 and performed on stage and radio. Moved to Canada in 1951 and began her own radio program in Toronto. Returned to Australia in 1956 working for Canadian Broadcasting Commission recording material for programmes on the Melbourne Olympic Games, and also made guest appearances on Melbourne radio & television. Returned to Canada where she had her own disc jockey program.
