Born in Northampton, UK (1963). Martin commenced a part-time DJ career at Das Bunker, Northampton's primary nightclub for the post-New Romantics who were moving into darker music including what would become Goth. Taking over from Rob "Tilly" Tilson, his music was a mixture of synth and darker music (Bauhaus, Killing Joke, Joy Division, ACR, The Normal, Soft Cell) with older stuff and oddities thrown in for good measure (B52s, Bowie, Cockney Rebel, Japan, OMD, Frank Sinatra). The club continued for a couple of years before the premises were sold to make way for a wine bar. Martin moved into a new role and completely different style of music when he started to DJ at the Princess Royal (Northampton's then only gay club). Here he found his love for hi-energy as well as club classics. Soon the club had competition from a new venue, the Regent Club. Martin moved to the Regent Club and DJd there for a number of years before eventually moving to Manchester where he now lives. During his time at the Regent Club, Martin became friends with Duncan Finlayson who owned Loading Bay Records in Birmingham. Duncan was about to launch his own record label, licensing a number of popular European club hits for the UK. Duncan invited Martin to design the sleeves for the new label. Martin also guest DJd at other venues including Rockies Manchester, Rockies Sheffield and the New Union in Manchester. He was approached by Wayne Siddall to do a remix of [m406957] which was to be released on the Rockies label. Martin secured studio space from a work colleague, and remixed the track and it's B-side with additional keyboards and Wayne Siddall was Executive Producer. Martin also designed the sleeve for the release. Shortly after moving to Manchester, Martin worked with Clone Zone to produce a soundtrack for a fetish weekend fashion show, which was his last public DJ work.
