Germán Rengifo

Colombian singer, musician and composer. Germán Rengifo A.K.A. "El Relicario", was born in Cañasgordas, (Antioquia, Colombia) on December 23, 1934 and died in Medellín, Colombia on May 3, 2017. In 1951 he formed the duet Rengifo and Bedoya with maestro José A. Bedoya and in 1952 with José Muñoz formed what would be the greatest duet of the "Guascarrilera" music known as "Los Relicarios". With José Muñoz he was singing for 65 years. Los Relicarios recorded "Musica Guascarrilera" and also "Musica Parrandera Paisa", leaving a legacy of more than 2500 recorded songs. Germán Rengifo also recorded as a soloist under the stage name "El Relicario" and in the same way he made more than 500 songs between Carrilera and Parrandera music, leaving a legacy of more than 3,000 recorded songs; of which approximately 10% were authored by him
