Jack Steadman

British classical violinist, violin professor, examiner, and author. Born in 1920 - Died 3 September 2014 in Cornwall, South West England, UK. After World War II, he took a 'refresher course' at the Royal College of Music, London. Former longtime member of the London Symphony Orchestra (1947-1981). After joining the LSO, he was soon voted onto the Board of Directors and at the age of 39 years became Chairman, a post he held for several years. He taught at the Royal College of Music. He was an examiner for the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music. He wrote the book 'Violin Scales and Arpeggios Book I Grades 1-5'.
