Gloria Jean Williamson

American soul singer, from Detroit, Michigan. She was one of the founding members of The Del-Phis (later Martha & The Vandellas). She recorded with the group for Motown, including some lead vocals, but she left the group to pursue other interests. The Motown tracks on which she sang lead were released as by The Vells. Born August 1, 1942. Died July 5, 2000.
