The blues band La Vieja Ruta was formed in mid-1991, originally constituted by guitar, bass, keyboard, drums and vocals. Over the years and a few changes of formation, they concluded with two guitars, bass, drums and vocals, adding their singer the performance of the harmonica as a vital instrument in their shows. His major musical influences, which denote his style, are Freddie King, Albert King, Magic Slim, John Primer and James Cotton, among others. They made a couple of tours along the Atlantic Coast and played alongside Eddie King, Eddie C. Campbell and John Primer in their respective visits to Argentina. In addition, they were invited by bands of the genre, such as Memphis la Blusera, Durazno de Gala, Los Delta Blues or La Suburbana. In 1994 they released their first album, "Vendiendo el alma", which sold nearly a thousand copies. In 2002 they released "Vivo con los blues", a live album recorded on the show held in November 2001 at the "Blues Special Club", produced by Rinaldo Rafanelli. In 2007 they release a new EP, but with another formation: Walter "Rana" René in voice and harmonica; Fernando Heller on guitar; Ariel Rogé on guitar; Daniel Garavaglia on bass; Adrián Scollo on drums and Daniel Nardi on saxophone.
