German Jazz composer, arranger, library label boss and music lawyer. He was born on May 24, 1940. He was taught classical piano in music school but soon was attracted by his faborite musician Lionel Hampton to learn to play the vibraphon. In 1957 he founded his first band "Blue Bird Swingtett" which merged in the show band Blue Birds who appeared to be the offical olympic band for the 1972 championship in Munich. 1972 he quit his active musical career to work as music lawyer. Later he founded the library label Coloursound Library together with Gerhard Narholz and still appeared on some releases. Since 2003 he's back on stage with a small formation, called Munich Swing Stars. Together with his wife Waltraud Greffenius he started the "Greffenius" foundation to support young musicians, painters or dancers.
