Daniel Selichius

(b Wittenberg, bap. Feb 4, 1581; d Wolfenbüttel, 1626) was a German composer. He matriculated at the University of Wittenberg in 1601 and by 1616 was director of music at the castle of Weesenstein, near Dresden. Soon afterwards he became Kapellmeister at the court at Iburg of Duke Philipp Sigismund, Bishop of Verden and Osnabrück
