Sarah, Plain And Tall has dreams of redheads, transistor radios, troubled Libras and brown eye-shadow. She gazes at the constellations through her telescope, except on overcast nights. Jaded at thirteen she started a band and only played songs by The Canannes and Skip James. Now she takes comfort in painting geraniums and finds romance among the stacks of the Berkeley public library. She enjoys penny starless afternoons, typewriters and tuba lessons, cartwheels and bicycles, writing letters to ex-boyfriends, making tapes, red bobby socks, the roaring twenties, mail order catalogs, 8mm film, postcards from Japan, being kissed, and foggy eyes.
