Swedish teacher and songwriter under the name Mart Gergårdh, originally Håkansson, born November 1, 1904 in Malmö, died October 10, 1988 in Kristinehamn, Värmland county. She graduated as a private student in Gothenburg in 1924 and was enrolled as a student at Lund University the same year. She obtained her bachelor's degree there in 1927 and was then a clerical assistant at the telegraph station in Kristinehamn. Margit Gergårdh became a student at the Higher Teachers' Seminary in Stockholm in the fall semester of 1931. She remained unmarried and took the name Gergårdh. She wrote nursery rhymes under the pseudonym Mart Gergårdh. Margit Gergårdh worked as a teacher in Transtrand's school where the students were encouraged to perform well in various contexts. She also composed songs that were published in the school songbooks, including the later controversial children's song Familjen Krokodil.
