Christian Gottfried Friederici

Christian Gottfried Friederici (21 March 1714, ​​Meerane, Saxony — 6 March 1777, Gera, Thuringia), sometimes "Friderici," was a German organ builder and clavichord maker. He has worked in Gera since 1744, collaborating with his older brother, Christian Ernst Friederici (1709—1780). His son, Christian Gottlob Friederici (1750—1805), subsequently became a piano maker. Gottfried was primarily active as an organ builder — unlike his brother, Christian Ernst, who favored stringed keyboard instruments. Friederici completed around fifty organs in Germany and Holland throughout his lifetime, with only one extant instrument, in Gröbern near Leipzig.
