I/O is a group from Lombardy, Italy, performing minimalistic improvisation. Founded in 2002 by Andrea Reali (vocals), Luca Mauri (guitar), Paolo Romano (double bass) and Paolo Benzoni (drums), their intention is to improvise using an approach to composition similar to the minimalist aesthetics of authors such as Steve Reich, La Monte Young and Terry Riley, borrowing besides some aspects from free-jazz, funk and from the rock de-structured and free.
