Robert Burtenshaw

British retired classical trombonist and teacher of trombone. Originally from Scarborough, North Yorkshire, England, UK. He studied at the Royal College of Music, London. In 1978, he joined the newly formed Orchestra Of Opera North as Sub-Principal Trombone; he retired on 23 September 2021, after more than 40 years with the orchestra. He also freelanced with many London orchestras. He taught at the Chetham's School Of Music and the University Of Leeds.
