American Gospel singing group from the 1960s-1970s. Group began in 1951 as a church quartet at Andrews Memorial Baptist Church in Graham, North Carolina. The group appeared in concert, on TV, and radio. Members included: Jimmy Collins -- Bass (joined in 1952 at age of 15) Joe Loy -- Lead and manager and emcee (joined 1951) Dan Webster -- Baritone and Lead (original member at age of 17) Walter Gurkin -- Tenor Ralph Currie -- Tenor (joined in September 1959) Accompanists included: Mary Jane Fenton (Mrs. Jimmy) Collins -- Piano, Organ (until Richard Smith), Richard Smith -- Piano (1960), Mrs. Beauford Faulkner -- Bass accompaniment, Tony Russell -- Piano, Johnny Bond -- Bass Fiddle
