Владимир Бакалейников

(October 3, 1885 - November 5, 1953) Russian-American violist, conductor and composer. The second oldest among the Bakaleinikov brothers (Николай Бакалейников, Constantin Bakaleinikoff and Mischa Bakaleinikoff are also known). In 1927, together with his wife, singer Yulia Fatova, he emigrated to the United States and, at the invitation of conductor Fritz Reiner, took over as his assistant (and first viola) at the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra.
