SAM I AM MONTOLLA Is an artist in motion. She started with dance at a young age and her love of music lead her to singing and songwriting. Brought up with Caribbean parents, exposed to Hip Hop culture, singing Gospel for a number of years and a lover of R&B and Funk, this Montreal songstress with all this diversity has made it apparent in her style. SAMIAM MONTOLLA has been a featured artist on The Songwriter’s Association of Canada in 2012 and in April 2017 was a featured artist on the MAtv series “Studios, Lofts and Jam Spaces” produced by Juliet Lammers. Working with many artists from around the city from the likes of Monk-e, Waahli, Emcee Originate and working plenty with Jai Nitai Lotus, she has featured on his mixtape"ACKNOWLEDGEMENT" and featured on Different Kitchen presents “QuinceAnera:Marvelous 15H” on the track “Lush Love”. She is also a featured singer on Shashu’s last EP release “STREET X” on the track “Feel It”, off of Fool’s Gold and now is featured with Emcee Originate on the track “Funky Flavour” on Mofak’s LP “Drunk of Funk” released on Sleepers Recordz. She is also a staple member of Kalmunity. MADE HER” is her first EP, a 6-Track body of work that infuses R&B, Funk, Soul and Afro-Rhythms. All tracks are produced by Shashu making this EP eclectic Down-to-Earth but Funk Futuristic. “MADE HER” is the telling of MONTOLLA’s history of where she has been and where she is planning to go. She has gotten to the Semi-Finals at The International Songwriting Competition 2014 for the song "The Fabric" and the EP got a fair amount of attention among her peers for her sultry voice and empowering lyrics. Her recent release is her single and video "Move Up:The Dream Chronicles" and "Bare Take 1", a live acoustic performance of her originals, showing her vulnerability. She is currently working on her next album, participating more into beatmaking.
