Melodic Death/Black metal band from Italy formed in 2006. Years active: 2006-20013 Sheol is a band formed in 2006 in Montefiascone, near Viterbo, by Giovanni Turchetti (bass and voice), Cristiano Ugolini (guitar) and Riccardo Fantera (drums). Right from the start they decide to give the band a better sound by recruiting another guitarist, Daniele Pezzato, regular member of the band until 2007 spring. On September 2006 Sheol start recording their first demo in Emiliano Natali's Fear No One Studios, 'Painting Black On The Sun'. The recording is accomplished in early 2007 but due to several problems the demo will be printed and ready to be released on September of the same year. Meanwhile, Daniele Pezzato is forced to leave the group because of personal issues with the rest of the band, but he is quickly replaced by new guitarist Enrico Napoli, who will be part of the group just for a couple of months, thus forcing Sheol to stop all the activities until December 2007. At the beginning of the next year, Sheol expand their line-up by recruiting Vincenzo Lodolini, guitarist of Viterbo pop band Frozen Flower and melodicdeath band Oblyvion. In August 2010, Gabriele Achilli joins the band, in order to give it a fresher, better sound with his keyboard and synths. After a period of rearrangement of their whole production with the help of the new member, on January 2011 Sheol start recording their first full-length album, 'I, the Cosmos', entirely auto-produced. Recordings, mixing and mastering are carried out by Vincenzo exclusively, with highly professional results. The album is ready on early September and the band thanks Francesca Socciarelli, for her help in writing lyrics of 'Dreams Away part 2', 'Insidious Creature' and 'Thousand Smiling Clowns'; Riccardo Chiara, for composing the Intro of the album, 'I, the Cosmos'; and Simona Bucci, singer of the band 'Black Mamba', who recorded all the clean voices of the cd, for their constant help and support. Sheol, with their new album officially released on the 16th of September and presented at the 'Teen Music Contest', in the famous pub of Rome 'Stazione Birra', keep on writing and making their own music. In January 2012 Lodolini Vincent left the band. In February 2012, in replacement of Vincent, joined the band guitarist Valerio Rossi.
