Algodón

Uruguayan alternative pop band, led by the composer and music producer, Paul Higgs, who starts the project in solitaire in a small home studio, located in Punta Gorda, a riverside neighborhood of Montevideo. This location, frequently cited in the songs, becomes the redoubt from which the artist would operate during the first half of 2014, giving life to seventeen songs, which make up the first LP "Algodón". According to Paul Higgs, Algodón started one day he was sitting in the Plaza Virgilio in Montevideo in one of those eureka moments: he was fascinated by the fluffy swing of the clouds that completed the scene and was followed by the recording of several songs. With the new material under his arm, Higgs strengthens the bond he already had with other Montevidean artists of the recent litter. The work of this group of friends, gives rise to "La Orbita Irresistible" (LOI), a record label that brings together twelve members, who under a collaborative modality, are part of different projects of the collective. On this logic, in 2015, Algodón acquires its band format, joining the work of Paul: Francisco, Sebastián, Agustín and Mariano; group that begins the rehearsals of the existing repertoire, and collaborates actively in creative processes of new compositions.
