Ouija (11)

St. Louis, Missouri Ouija was a band started by Sue Rose (Zeilstra, Herzberg) and Bruk Longbottom. Sue was married to Tim Rose of the Sun Sawed in Half at the time and Bruk's boyfriend was Mark Stephens of the Boo-rays and later The Highway Matrons. Sue and Bruk were always going to their shows and finally decided, hey, we can do that! So they found guitarist/vocalist Patti Loth (Chambers) who is the sister of Chris Bess who played with Enormous Richard, the Civil Tones & Southern Culture on the Skids. Sue learned drums, Bruk learned Bass & Ouija was born. The picked the name Ouija based on who they wrote songs, they really didn't know what they were doing but they were guided by mysterious forces. Ouija recorded one CD - Bow Chicky Chicky Wow that has lots of great funny, angry, profanity laced, loud songs and some nicely reflective ones as well. A few tracks are: Sexy Grandpa, Porkchop, Evil Eye, Kitty, Rain Closet, Pandora's Box and more. They were part of the Rooster Lollipop Record Collective and enjoyed playing many shows with Free Dirt, the Highway Matrons, Johnny Magnet, the Trip Daddies and all the ROLO bands. They also put on many showcases like Axes and Snaxes and the Pajama Party and had fun making Mardi Gras floats for the Way Out Club.
