Barbershop lead vocalist. Born on June 15, 1916 in Salt Lake City, Utah. Pres was the second oldest of five boys. He and his brothers would soon learn to sing barbershop thanks to their father, Oscar “Doc” Evans, and his quartet, the Elgin Four. Pres and his brothers started their quartet in 1926 and got to sing for Charles Lindbergh upon his return home. Pres started out on baritone but later switched to lead. There were several personnel changes over the years but the quartet finally won in 1960. The quartet would remain active until 1981. Aside from barbershop singing, Pres served in World War II and Korea and worked for the Utah Air National Guard. Pres passed away on August 3, 2006 in Salt Lake City at the age of 90.
