J. "Mo'ong" Santoso Pribadi

Bangkok-born and Java-raised Johanes “Mo’ong” Santoso Pribadi is an experimental music composer and instrument builder. Pribadi’s background is in Western classical music with a focus on double bass, though he returned to his roots to explore Nusantara, the music of Indonesia, and the wisdom of Javanese folklore. He received an MA in music composition at the Indonesian Institute of the Arts, Surakarta; was selected as a young emerging composer on IRC+ (International Rostrum of Composer) in 2015; and has been involved in a variety of projects across genres and media. In 2017, he initiated the Limbah Berbunyi project, in which he builds musical instruments from found objects or junk. He also works as a sound designer and writes music for several independent films.
