George Clarence Jell

Canadian baritone (b. October 23, 1881 in Wardsville, Ontario, Canada - d. June 22, 1955 in Memphis, Tennessee, USA) Jell emigrated to the United States in 1898, settling at first in Chicago, IL, later in New York City, and became a naturalized U.S. citizen in 1904. In 1918, he listed as his profession Manager for the Columbia Graphophone Co. Recorded five titles for Columbia between 1910 and 1911. Later, he wrote short introductions to musical masterpieces for the Columbia Fine Art Series of Musical Masterworks that he collected and published as a book under the title "Masters in Miniature" (New York, Barse & Co) in 1930.
