H.H. Sri Chandrasekharendra Saraswathi

Considered to be Truly a manifestation of God Himself in flesh and blood, His Holiness Sri Chandrasekharendra Saraswathi (the monastic title given to a Pontiff of this Monastery) lived a full, blessed life of 100 years (1894-1994) as the most famed of all Pontiffs of The Sri Kanchi Kamakoti Peetam in Kanchipuram, Tamilnadu since the First Pontiff, Jagadguru Adi Sankaracharya Himself. He lived an extremely austere life and, by the experiences of millions of devotees, foresaw people's sorrows even without them mentioning them and offered resolution. His greatness did not lie in performing miracles or solving people's sorrows but the serenity, power of penance, and divinity about Him that he undoubtedly possessed and radiated. That sense of dependability and solving problems even without performing miracles, but instead through people he knew, especially in colonial India where help never ever reached millions. The monastery itself was impoverished when He took over, and He became the hope for millions through that. His greatness was not so realized while He was still alive but after His passing, there are countless people who feel His presence and greatness now.
