The "K"

The "K" 's musical root go back as far as his middle school in Southampton where he would learn guitar, but despite having regular music lesson at his secondary school in his KS3 years, it would be several years until he would pick up another guitar to play. In 1987 he would team up with friend The Mix Kid to start working on a number of mixes of popular and their favourite music. Later they would go on to release a mix of the Pet Shop Boys track Opportunities under the name The Parana Brothers (taken from Monty Python). By the late 1990's the partnership of DJ GK & The Mix Kid came to an end, and after moving house again he started a new project called Sound From The South and went on to record and album of the same name. He was later joined by friend at the time Andy Williams, but nothing further was released, with the project coming to an end in 1998. After further house moves The "K" went back to focus on remixing music and in 2003 released the album 1988-2003 celebrating 15 years of remixing. In 2006 he started is next project Deja Vue, originally conceived as a covers band, he would go on to again to collaborate with The Mix Kid who joined in around August 2007 after finishing the Complete Works album. Musically the group then changed to producing and releasing it's own music with the album Retro-Electro, The Ambient EP and REMIXED During this era The "K" also was Managing Director of LHP Music Limited (originally as LHP then LHP Productions) consisting of LHP Studios (a re-branding of his Dragon Studios), LHP Records, LHP Publishing later additions were Electronica Records, All Metal Records, Jazz Club Records and Hi-NRG Records, with each on focusing on specific genres. ​In 2010 The "K" released a solo 4 track EP titled Do Not Alight This Side After several years of hiatus The "K" officially left Deja Vue on 26 May 2014, and by this time had dissolved LHP Music Limited, while restoring Dragon Studios. He also started remixing again as The "K" and also under the Pseudomonas of The Stutterman, MAC 10 and the KMS The KMS did their first DJ Set #LiveInLondon on 27 August 2015 In November 2015 The "K" announced that he would be starting work on his next project Synthetic with the first release coming in 2017. In 2017 The "K" started working on a mix of his #Top100Tunes, being selected from thousands of tracks spanning just about every genre. With this finished he moved on to do a few more of these in the series. He also started working on doing some Special Extended Remixes on song and these can be found on his YouTube / MixCloud accounts. Around this time he decided that he would at this time further delay the Synthetic project. In 2018 through some set of circumstances The "K" decided to start a new record label, initially to help his new friend Jay Mackie release his songs Beautiful and Troubled. Not one to miss an opportunity he then went on to look at getting others signed to the label and releasing their music, as well as of course new tracks himself. The first of which Broken Down, which came out in August 2018.
