Edward "Ed" White (born November 14, 1930, San Antonio, Texas, USA - died January 27, 1967, Cape Canaveral, Florida, USA) was an American engineer, United States Air Force officer and NASA astronaut. On 3 June 1965, he became the first American to conduct a spacewalk. He was killed during pre-launch test for the first Apollo mission at the Kennedy Space Center.
