Markus & Shahzad

In the year 2016 producer MARC CORMIER met the Qawwali singer SHAHZAD SANTOO KHAN, who is well-known in Pakistan, while looking for a singer for his planned world, funk, electro project and established direct contact via social media. After several meetings and studio sessions, an experienced ensemble was assembled and the first album »Tumba« was recorded. Markus & Shahzad is the meeting of french musicians with a pakistani qawali singer mixing occidental electronic music, middle east musical feeling and asian spirit. Aboard a French Touch wagon of the Orient Express, Markus offers a musical update of Oud and Electronic music with a tasty mixture, unexpected and fanciful.
