Sal Khan

The first vocalist for the New Orleans death metal band Apostasy. Had previously been lead vocalist for Malignancy, which was a comedic hardcore/thrash/death metal band who had Jason Pizzolato on guitar & Matthew Brown on drums. The three would later morph into Apostasy after adding a bassist & a second guitarist & shifting to a pure death metal direction. In 2006, Sal created Khan Academy, a free online education platform & an organization with which he has produced thousands of video lessons teaching a wide spectrum of academic subjects, originally focusing on mathematics and sciences. The academy's YouTube channel has nearly 2 billion views as of February of 2022. In 2012, Time Magazine named Khan in its annual list of the 100 most influential people in the world.
