Michael Keith (5)

American country and bluegrass songwriter. Born August 31, 1942 in Greenville, South Carolina. Died July 11, 2023. Keith achieved success as a songwriter, co-writing country and bluegrass songs with his Nashville writing partners Dave Lindsey and Matt Lindsey. His songs have been recorded by Perfect Stranger, Doyle Lawson and Quicksilver, Lou Reid and Carolina, Jesse McReynolds, The Spinney Brothers, Larry Sparks, Kati Penn, King James Boys, and Charley Pride. Keith also worked as a broadcast journalist at WGST Radio in Atlanta, owned a retail clothing store, John Michaels, in Greenville, and worked as a tour guide in Key West. During three decades in Key West, he met and married writer June Keith. Together they created Palm Island Press, a publisher of books and music.
