Об исполнителе:
Dutch producer Afterlife (The Hague, 1974) got his first turntables in 1990 - the same time that house music began evolving. During the crazy years that followed, a record buying frenzy and mixing passion developed, driven by resident DJ's like Dark Raver. Completely immersed in the 90s house- and ravescene, a lifetime devotion to the era's music was born. Afterlife was very active in the trackerscene, running the successful online label UCP. Numerous tracks were published under the name Errorist, while at the same time part-time being active as a DJ. While the original house scene faded, the passion remained. A successful YouTube channel named Statenhal was launched in 2006, featuring entirely vinyl-recorded house classics and home made DJ mixes. In 2016 a Facebook page followed, quickly becoming a platform for like minded people. Meanwhile, technology had advanced to the point where one can "own" a complete studio with genuine 90s hardware. This triggered a challenge to reproduce the classic sound. Several meticulously rebuild classics, accompanied with how-to videos, were then released to both platforms, sparking a lot of interest. It didn't take long before the techniques were applied to self-made productions, resulting in authentic oldskool styled tracks. In 2017, "The Joint" - heavily influenced by the early UK sound - was the first vinyl release, out on UK label Peace On Wax.
