Jerry Reed (2)

In 1947 after being discharged from the U.S. military, Jerry opened "Jerry's Curb Service" drive-in restaurant in Bridgewater, PA. When he worked at the Curb Service, he was always listening to music. He eventually built a room in his house where he could make tapes and play these tapes at the drive-in. The partnership between Jerry Reed and Don Garvin began in 1960 when they teamed up to build a small studio recording studio in Jerry's house. They began recording local groups and in the late 1960's, Jerry and Don decided to move their studio to Pittsburgh and this was a short lived venture. Jerry retired in the mid 1970's and decided he still wanted to do something so Jerry and Don bought a house in New Brighton and installed a 16 track recorder along with other equipment. In 1975, Jeree Studios was born and opened to the public along with the label Jeree Records. Jerry passed away in September 28, 2000.
