He wrote liner notes for several commercial CDs, including The Vee-Jay Story, Rock Artifacts (Vols. 1-4), The Chordettes' 25 All-Time Greatest Recordings, and The History of Cadence Records. His popular book Oldies On CD (Both Sides Now Publications, 1994) was a second edition of a 1991 book. He founded the Both Sides Now website in 1997 which has discographies of over 600 different record labels, along with stories on many of them, as well as a chat board for record collectors.
