Alexandra Naumik

Female singer and composer, born 12 August 1949 in Vilnius, Lithuania (then Russia) by Polish parents. She grew up in Siberia as her family was deported there by Stalin, but returned to Poland in 1967. She moved to Norway in 1970, took the name Alex in 1976 and released two disco-funk LPs. She moved to Los Angeles later in the 1980's, where she worked on a more low-profile basis in the music industry. Alex was found dead in her apartment in Oslo, on September 17, 2013, at the age of 64.
