Orçun Baştürk

Orçun Baştürk is a member of the out-of-the-mainstream music scene in Turkey: He is a founder of many outstanding groups: the avant-rock band "Replikas", psychedelic Aegean music project "Kırıka" and joined many other side projects. His recent projects include a new ballad-project "SO Duo" with Sumru Ağıryürüyen, an improvising trio "Konjo" with Ağıryürüyen and guitarist Şevket Akıncı. With his various ensembles he has recorded numerous albums and performed at many festivals all over the world. He has composed many film and theater scores and played in many live interdisciplinary performances. He has released his solo albums as Oichuung. As a film director, his experimantal short films have received awards and been shown at many festivals including the İstanbul and European film festivals. He is also a radio programmer.
