José Zabala

He was born on December 28, 1922, in the Province of San Luis, Argentina, the day of the Holy Innocents, and was settled in the Civil Registry of the people on February 2, 1923, in a town near Concarán called, Ojo del Rio , close to Santa Rosa in the same Province. Died on April 29th, 1988, in Buenos Aires Among his compositions, we can highlight: the waltzes, "Campanita Of Santo Domingo" (with Rafael Arancibia Laborda), "Roberto" and "Para Raúl"; the cuecas "Calle Angosta" (Narrow Street), "Quién Dijo Salud" (Who Said health) and "Nació Una Flor" (A Flower Was Born); the tonadas "Yo Te Quiero Y No Lo Niego" (I Love You and I Don't Deny It) and "La Tonada y el Cogollo" (The Tonada and The Cogollo) (this one with Angel Assisi); the milonga "La Lechuza" (The Owl) and the zamba Zamba Mercedina (Zamba From Mercedes) (with Oscar Valles). He was part of the Duo Alfonso and Zavala and member of "Los Trovadores de Cuyo", "La Tropilla de Huachi Pampa", "Los Coyuyos del Chorrillo", "Los Troperos de Pampa de Achala", "Los Puntanos" y "Jose Zavala y Las Guitarras Cuyanas".
