Swedish flutist, conductor, orchestra leader and educator, born September 1, 1967. She has studied at the Royal Academy of Music in Stockholm and at the Sibelius Academy in Helsinki. Her teachers include Bror Samuelsson, Per-Olov Sahl, Lennart Ehrenlood, Stig Bengtsson, Per Ohlsson, Jorma Panula, Eric-Olof Söderström and Tönu Kaljuste. Helena has worked as a studio musician with mostly composers and musicians Mikael Sundin, been producer and conductor of the Mälardalen Opera in collaboration with the Royal Academy of Music, Skansen and Mälardalen University during the 90s. She has written theater music for Dramaten and arranged film music for, among others, The Invisible and 9 millimeters and has worked closely with Dag Volle (Denniz Pop) in various projects as a flutist, conductor and music consultant. Helena has received the Stallbrödernas scholarship for her versatility in music. In 2018, she was awarded the Academy of Music's Educational Prize. Was a member of the pop group Edson during the years 1998–2003. Helena has been conductor and artistic director of the Stockholm Academic Orchestra since 1996 and has worked since 2002 as a teacher in ensemble conducting, flute playing and flute didactics at the Stockholm Institute of Music Education and as a guest teacher at the Royal Academy of Music in the subject of ensemble methodology. At Kulturskolan Stockholm, she has been a teacher of flute playing and music theory since 1998, as well as conductor and orchestra leader for the Stockholm Youth Symphony Orchestra.
