Serious Truth

Issa Godinho (born Christian Henry Godinho; 26 September 1990), better known by his stage name Serious Truth, is an American musician, multimedia artist and independent record label executive. Serious Truth emerged from Massachusetts' underground hip hop scene in 2010. His debut onto the national Hip-Hop scene was on November 3, 2020 when he released a joint LP with Blaq Poet titled Cultural Revolution reflecting on current events. On May 25th, 2021, he followed that up with a joint EP with Charles Hamilton titled "Controversial". On January 3rd, 2023 he released a Jazz piano album titled "Escapism" that received international recognition. As a child, he learned to play the piano, drums, bass guitar, flute, saxophone and various other instruments. As a pre teen he started doing graffiti and became the leader of his own graffiti crew called Stock Cap Assassins. At the age of 14 he got caught and sent to a juvenile correctional institution in Upstate New York where he decided to make the musical aspect of hip hop culture his main focus instead of graffiti due to legality. Upon his release, right before his 16th birthday, he became serious about a career as a musician and started to write songs, teach himself the ins and outs of Pro Tools as well as other digital audio workstations. Serious Truth has worked with the likes of Reks, Termanology, Sean Price, Blaq Poet, Charles Hamilton, Layzie Bone, Buckwild, Krumbsnatcha and Big Twins of Infamous Mobb since beginning his career as an artist.
