ABBILDUNG is an interdisciplinary dark ambient music / soundscapes / fieldrecording & photography project from Sibiu (Hermannstadt) / Transylvania / Romania. It was founded in 2004-2005 by Casian Stefan. He is also the owner of Essentia Mundi label. ABBILDUNG name comes from the picture theory of meaning articulated by Ludwig Wittgenstein in Tractatus Logico-Philosophicus. It is a theory of linguistic reference and meaning. The ABBILDUNG's world is based on this philosophical theory that was extended and applied in music and imagery.
