Dixie was a publicist for Starday Records, promoting records of the Stanley Brothers, Carl Story, the Lewis Family, and others, early 1960s. Editor of Music City News, late 1960s. Award-winning BMI songwriter. Founder of Good Home Grown Music publishing. Founder of Blue Circle Records. IBMA Distinguished Achievement Award, 2004. Inducted into the IBMA Hall of Fame, 2018 and the Bluegrass Museum Hall Of Fame 2018. A prominent spokesman for and supporter of bluegrass music and the people who make and enjoy it. Tom T. wrote 11 #1 country hits, 37 Top Ten country hits, and numerous other songs. Nicknamed “The Storyteller” by Country Music Hall of Fame member Tex Ritter.
