Lutkie

Sarah Lutkenhaus is an artist and musician who lives and works in New York City. Her music combines noise, sound collage, power electronics, and vocal improvisation. She uses modular synthesis, field recordings, contact mics, and samples to build narratives and ominous atmospheres. The music examines emotional extremes, physical limitations, social expectations, and digital isolation. Her live performances are a cathartic and visceral hybrid of prearranged sounds and spontaneity that is unique to each environment.
