Brazilian-born, Canadian singer-songwriter Bruno Capinan and his voice resonate the vibrant legacy of a hybrid culture. Born in Salvador da Bahia, the epicentre of Afro-Brazilian music, the internationally acclaimed artist has released five albums in his ten-year music career and performed to audiences in Japan, Brazil, Argentina and the United States. Capinan gained international recognition in 2016, with the release of ‘Divina Graça’, including reviews in French newspaper ‘Libération’, Japan’s ‘Latina Magazine’, as well as Brazil’s largest publications ‘O Globo’ and ‘Folha de São Paulo’. Winner of the TELUS Newcomer Artist Award 2014, he has collaborated with artists around the globe, including Japanese composer Jun Miyake, with whom Capinan co-writing and appeared on 'Lost Memory Theatre Act-3'. Most recently, Capinan released his fifth studio album titled 'Leão Alado Sem Juba' (Winged Lion Without a Mane) via ‘Ala Records’ recorded remotely between Canada, Brazil, France and Portugal. In December 2019, his album ‘Real’ was selected by APCA (São Paulo Arts Critics Association), as one of the best albums of 2019, with a feature in ‘Rolling Stone’ and ‘GQ Magazine’.
