Bernard Granville

American actor, singer, circus clown, and minstrel show performer (b. July 4, 1888 in Chicago, Illinois - d. October 5, 1936 in Hollywood, California) Granville started out performing with Al G. Field's minstrel show in 1906. For a while, he joined the Ringling Brothers Circus as a clown, but then went back to minstrel shows. Discovered by Florenz Ziegfeld, he appeared in the Ziegfeld Follies of 1912, 1915, and 1916. In 1912, Granville incorporated his own music publishing business at 154 W 45th Street in New York City. By 1916, he established a branch in Boston as well.
