Rising singer, songwriter, producer, and all-around virtuoso AMI is a magnetic artist whose musical style is colorfully harmonic but dissonant, with varying rhythmic ideas, heavy bass, sultry vocals, and honest lyrics. AMI’s musical journey began at the age of 4 when she discovered and started playing drums in church. Intrigued by the overall energetic, spontaneous and creative experience, AMI was determined to become a master musician and multi-instrumentalist. Her command of music was fostered as she attended performing arts institutions, became trained as a classical pianist, and obtained a degree in musical performance. Her career defining moment came with her relocation to Chicago, where she founded a band, giving her the opportunity to create with no limitations. It also fostered in her the confidence to publish and produce her own art. Demand for AMI’s expertise on and off stage blossomed, resulting in collaborations and tours with well-known artists, such as Lizzo, Jamila Woods, and SZA. Her solo and collaborative performances have entertained national and international audiences. She has opened for talents such as Bilal, Mumu fresh and has been a featured or headline performer at multiple venues and festivals. AMI brings a musical experience one will not soon forget. AMI is currently promoting her debut album Suite in A. The 3-movement sonic expedition showcases her range across music genres, which span from classical to soul/R&B to hip hop.
