Matthew Bragg is an American R&B, soul, funk and jazz bassist, guitarist, composer and arranger. Born August 09, 1955 in Philadelphia PA. and raised in Los Angeles, CA. As a member of local Los Angeles band "Thrust", Bragg was mentored early on by [a253396], Richard Tee, Louis Johnson and worked as a session musician playing on numerous releases of the1980's. As a sideman he played in many performing units locally and across the U.S, Europe, Canada and Mexico. Bragg was a voting member of the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences for over twenty years and is a brand ambassador for Bootlegger Guitars. In 2016, Bragg and musical partner David E. Jackson formed [a10041325] and Centroplex Records releasing several projects. In 2023, Bragg was the recipient of The Blues Living Legend Award by The Barbara Morrison Performing Arts Center in Los Angeles.
