This is actually a reconstituted Knickerbockers. Lodi was the name given to band by MoWest label owner Berry Gordy. The Knickerbockers had stabilized in late 1969 with RIchie Walker Costanzo (vocals) and Eric Swanson (drums) joining original members John and Beau Charles (bass and guitar). Beau at this point had decided to adopt his birth name, so the records are released with the credit Robert Cecchino. The band's demo tape attracted MoWest A&R man Bob West, who signed them to the label. Lodi's single "Happiness" was released in 1971. By the time their sole album appeared a year later, the band had finally disbanded. Richie Walker would work with Randy Meisner in the late 70s. Beau and John and Charles remain active as in demand session musicians, jingle singers and occasional live performers.
