Bobby Moon is a singer, songwriter and producer residing in Los Angeles. At age 20 Bobby studied studio engineering at Dick Grove School of Music in Los Angeles but never finished the course. As he recalls, “It was 1985 and there were new advances in music happening at the time. It was the time for synths and drum machines and midi and I was learning how to mic clarinets for crying out loud!” Anxious to get his music career started he jumped at the chance when he got offered to help form a band with his high school buddy Paul ‘Pablo’ Thomas. “Paul encouraged me to become a lyricist because he knew I loved literature and that I wrote. Later when the band was forming he pushed me to become the front man when other singers auditioning all flaked out.“ The project evolved into the Post-Punk Goth band Life After Death, who recorded a 4-song EP and made a video for one of the songs “Isn’t It Time,” which can now be viewed on YouTube. Life After Death broke up in 1987 and in 1988 Bobby formed the group Spellbound with Paul ’Pablo’ Thomas . “We were getting better at writing songs and now could write music we were really into and grew up listening to. Basically Funk and Soul.” Spellbound went on to record a large musical catalog through the duo’s grass roots boutique label Selfish Recordings and in 2018 Spellbound released their 12th album “The Main Hustle.” A significant career event took place in 2008 when Bobby was able to invest in his own recording facility, Tripsville Studio. Bobby got back in touch with his roots as a studio engineer and began working on many projects from Tripsville. Later that same year he released his 1st self titled solo album “Bobby Moon.” Today Bobby continues to write, record and produce with Spellbound, his solo project and anything musical that catches his fancy! In March 2018 Bobby started his own pod cast on RadioTitans.com called “Raw N Rawkin With Bobby Moon.” The show is an hour (or so) Podcast about the SoCal music scene including interviews with local bands and touring acts rolling through town.
